Mine: I was working on a compiler backend for a GPU-like chip. Test programs that used memory barriers would fail non-deterministically.

53) Amazing Engine. Largely misconceived late TSR attempt at a universal game engine in which you were supposed to keep the 'core' of your characters between genres, which didn't work at all. But had a couple of excellent settings, such as Bughunters, the first good ALIENS-esque game.

Jerry Paris was my comic life raft in the dark period of non comic reading age 14-18. His Bughunters in C&VG was spectacular and he’s remained one of my favourite artists. (Ive a couple of original commissions and they’re incredible!)

Jerry Paris was my comic life raft in the dark period of non comic reading age 14-18. His Bughunters in C&VG was spectacular and he’s remained one of my favourite artists. (Ive a couple of original commissions and they’re incredible!)

I wish I could say I spent that gap doing something better, but I turned to computers (and the magazine C&VG because it ran a four page regular comic in it by Steve Moore and Jerry Paris... and I could pretend I bought it for the computer stuff, but really - it was for the comic "Bughunters")

I'm not against them in any professional way as effectively compilers/bughunters or whatever, and in fact one of the main things I do is build better dev systems over the decades with new tools like this, the problems are really systemic and in qud's case just artisinal.

Amazing Engine had some really cool setting in the line, and I have been a fan of the line since it came out. Some were goofy great, but Kromosome and Bughunters were full stand up great.
