SC acknowledged the statue was created circa 1330 to be enshrined in a Seosan temple but cited the expiration of the statute of limitations on the original looting in its final ruling. Buseoksa will now seek to regain custody of the statue from Kannonji thru legitimate diplomatic and legal channels.
