Chris Lloyd integrated real, recognizable faces into the crowd. He used photographs of actual local citizens, pub regulars, and city eccentrics from the late 2000s, turning the historical tribute into a family portrait of the modern community. Lloyd sent daily letters to Canada's Prime Minister, but this habit was actually an undercover, decade-long political performance art piece. By 2015, Lloyd took the project to a wild extreme by joining the Conservative Party, rising to become a local party president, and getting himself officially nominated to run for office in Montreal against Liberal leader Justin Trudeau. The party had no idea his campaign was a piece of conceptual art until the media exposed it hours before a major press cycle, forcing his sudden resignation. Today Lloyd works as an artist, gallery technician, social activist, and parent. He still does his "Dear PM" conceptual project, which has been running continuously since 2001.
