Solid line up from ButtonShy!

Check out my preview of The Cursed Cat & Forest Rivals:

Pssst don’t sleep on Reawaken, it’s a sequel to “At the Helm” and it’s one of the most brilliant uses of 18 card format.

Playtesting a new game from ButtonShy - Adventurous Outlands! The original Adventurous is one of my favorites and I always have a copy within reach, so getting to check out a new land-based version is exciting!

Won a copy of The Royal Limited from ButtonShy game’s monthly Discord challenges, so I’m checking it out! It’s Trains!

I think I'll do this for the first time this year.

I always have a variety of light single-player games on hand (thanks Buttonshy!) so doing the one-a-day thing doesn't sound too taxing. But I have some heavier ones I want to try as well, including, now, a bunch from your list.

Rove from @ButtonShy is a solo puzzle game where you pilot a robot trying to escape a hostile planet. Good for 8+ year-olds. It's a single-player Deduction-Puzzle-Sequencing board game, out now. www.familygamingdatabase.com/game/Rove

Buttonshy have a huge range of games that use 18 cards or less, with varying requirements for tablespace and time. I really recommend them for waiting out the rush hour or just missed my train moments.

Riffing a bit on the classic game Set for my ButtonShy 9 card design challenge .. Holiday Hunt is quite fun and quite challenging .. HMU if you want to give it a try! 🎲✂️

form islands that group together animals and scoring conditions that use those animals. You also get points just for completing an island. This one was fine. I'd play it again on a train or plane or whatever but it didn't blow me away compared to other Buttonshy games I've played.

Apropos of nothing in particular, a thread with some thoughts on some solo board games I played recently. These are all punished by Buttonshy, who publish a lot of games, frequently though not always for one player, that make use of a number of playing card-sized cards

Some ButtonShy games like Sprawlopolis, Tussie Mussie, and Skulls of Sedlec are all great, especially if you don't know the experience of the people playing. Plus they're cheap, and easy to store and (usually) replace.

Definitely check out ButtonShy if you haven't, they make really small portable games. Revolver Noir up above for 2 player, Numbsters or Downtown Las Palmas for solo in-hand.

For conventions specifically, In Vino Morte and Apropos of Board Games would be great party/high-player-count games.

Shout-out to the ButtonShy games, especially the 9-card club game and the PnP in the gum case 😄

ButtonShy and the creator of Deep Regrets actually made Shallow Regrets 😂

In Vino Morte from ButtonShy is great for 8 players!

If you know the scene from The Princess Bride where two characters have cups of wine, and one of them is poisoned, that's essentially this game.

It is a light, quick social deduction game that is easy to pick up.

Haven't gotten to play but In Vino Morte from ButtonShy is supposed to be great at 6-9 players
December 17, 2024 at 4:18 PM
If you don't need to be able to get it today (or you make good pnps), ButtonShy has good games for this:

In Vino Morte - You know that scene from The Princess Bride, with the poison wine? This game is that, for up to 9 players. Dead (haha) simple to teach, very quick to play, great for big groups.

My favorite game publisher, ButtonShy, is having their annual Black Friday sale. Skip Amazon and shop an awesome small company! 25% off (which comes out to $9 a game 🤯), and bundles for even cheaper!

It is very possible to lock yourself out of good moves pretty early on if you don't know what you are doing

It was frustrating for a few games but it is definitely one of my top spatial puzzles from ButtonShy now

ExoShip is an incredible game, especially for just 18 cards (and I'm saying that as a huge ButtonShy fan)!

I'm really looking forward to grabbing Lil Bitty Gloomhaven at retail.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to pair up with ButtonShy Games for a design challenge! The design community there loves making creative games based off of specific criteria.

Or at least a quick game jam, which they have done a few times before.
