Spain is not the only one with a bycatch problem: the European Commission currently has infringement procedures open against several EU countries for failing to tackle bycatch of species like puffins, dolphins, and whales.

Cold, clear and frosty but have a least one moth with this Feathered Thorn. Absolutely love how it is sat on a frosty trap! Also this bycatch by the trap is stunning. Obsid says Ophion obscuratus #teammoth

What I like about birding / bird photography is that so often you get surprises that you weren't counting on. The Osprey I saw at Wagbachniedrung, where I went only to see Purple herons. The Eider male I ran into when I was trying to catch some Great crested grebe mating rituals. Cool bycatch :).

I´ve been veggie since 1985 yet, when I was 14, so I´m not responsible for that kind of "bycatch".

It’s scattershot, & disrespectful.

When this concludes, there’ll be a layoff. Maybe not immediately. But the man will come back around again.

Some who take it would’ve been cut anyway. Some not.

Those among this soft layoff bycatch left inside the firm need to remember they’re on a list already.

Thank you Mary! That Sullivan bill, page 5, item (4) states bycatch would be confidential. That isn't transparency.

A bit over 430,000 annually. Interesting, but far less than the bycatch from fossil fuel facilities, power lines, buildings and cats. This graphic is for all avians, but bats are in there, too.
