これは1972年まで国鉄・小海線（ｺｳﾐ-）で運用されたC56形蒸気機関車。比較的に小型であることから"高原のポニー"の愛称で親しまれた。野辺山駅に近い国鉄線路最高地点（1375m）の標柱と、"野辺山高原 一三七五米"の看板を合わせる。全長 62.5 x 15.5cm。
[1970～80年代/ #昭和100年 ]
1, C56型式テンダ機関車のペナント、吹き流し型バナー。水色の布にイラストをプリント。イラストは黒単色、周縁枠は赤。ペナントの左に黄色い編み紐、2本付き。 2, イラストはC56形蒸気機関車の側面図。背景は描かれず、機関車を主題としている。 3, イラストの拡大。細部に渡って比較的に正確な側面図で図解的、メカニカルなイラストである。他に国鉄線路最高地点と野辺山高原の看板のイラストを付して現地に紐付けされている。 4, タイトルは和文。ゴシック体で "C56型式テンダ機関車" （黒）だがそのロゴは小さく、機関車の図のキャプションに近い。他、標柱の "日本国有鉄道線路最高地点, 一三七五米"、看板の "野辺山高原, 一三七五米" 。

The steam locomotive depicted on this pennant is a C56, a type that operated on the Koumi Line until 1972.
Length 62.5 x 15.5cm （24.6 x 6.1in). Circa 1970s or 1980s, #vintage .
1, "C56 type tender steam locomotive" pennant, streamer type. It is made of light blue cloth with an illustration printed on it and two yellow braided strings attached to the left of the pennant. The illustration is black with a red border. The pennant also depicts a sign indicating the highest point on the Japan National Railways tracks near Nobeyama Station. 2, The illustration is a side view of a C56 type steam locomotive. The background is not drawn; the locomotive is the main subject. 3, Enlargement of the illustration. This is an accurate side view of a steam locomotive. Other illustrations are the highest point of the Japan National Railways railway line and the signboard of Nobeyama Kogen (Nobeyama Highlands). 4, The title is in Japanese.
