鉄道車両擬人化第166回 国鉄C62型蒸気機関車
戦後の1948年から49両製造された蒸気機関車で、主に東海道本線、呉線、山陽本線などで優等列車の運行に使われてました。銀河鉄道999の999号のモデルとなった車両で原作や映画2作目では実際にもあったC62 48が車番となっていましたがテレビアニメ版では架空の車番のC62 50となってました。他にもいくつかのロボットアニメで使われるなど漫画・アニメ作品で使われることが多い車両でした

For context for the road number being off and not C62 48 or C62 50 (Like in the movie or show) is because this itself is in refernce of C62 2, which I wanted to pay tribute to foe being my reference.
