Chicago lefty here; the concern around violent protest has cooled off quite a bit the last few weeks. The biggest protest org (CAARPR) is focused on safety and accessibility for families at protests. I'm not hearing that folks want to crack skulls/get their skulls cracked. Time will tell, of course.
