In this case, the seedlings for #Imleda & #Humberto developed in the prior CCKW passage before finding favorable “enough” conditions later to develop

I'll be the first to admit, although some things like the CCKW passage & SSTs are decent, I'm somewhat surprised #99L is doing this given the big SAL/dust outbreak that's been chasing it from the NE.

+PWATa NW of the wave axis looks a lot like the Brammer & Thorncroft (2015) "developing" AEW composite
Also, the CCKW timing is great, w/ TCG occurring ~2-3 days after passage as the 0z GFS shows

I dug out some pics of GMC CCKW trucks on the brilliant Operation Bolero road run event in 2007 for a great mate of mine who is offering a truck in a prize draw. As I prepped the pix I may as well share them here. I've never driven one of these motors, but I'm told they are a hoot.
