This morning, we officially unveiled the new mural at the CCOC building at 415 Gilmour, painted by Daniel Martelock and youth from Operation Come Home.
Public art builds community and makes Centretown a more fun place to live and visit. This mural was funded by the city’s Paint It Up program.

I'll use the ward's affordable housing fund to accelerate a low-rise, multi-unit development there with big, multi-bedroom units. Stay tuned for details in the coming weeks!

A huge thanks to Sarah Button and the CCOC team for the tour of newly-completed 214 Carruthers! The multi-bedroom units are spectacular. Not-for-profit housing is critical to ensuring everyone can live in great neighbourhoods like Hintonburg.

Great news! The city’s Finance and Corporate Services Committee passed a motion to exempt non-profit housing organizations like CCOC Housing from property taxes. This will allow them to invest another 25% of rental income into maintaining their properties and building more affordable housing.

No doubt, the Build Canada Homes partnership is problematic as a deal for Ottawa. But I voted for it because it will inject $150 million in federal funding for not-for-profit housing projects.
