The Graduate Employees union for CEOAS is currently in day 13 of a strike after a lengthy negotiation went poorly.
I have worked as a TA in CEOAS so I have been in the union though i currently am not, though may again be in the future.

As part of a separate program in the school and also a student employee, I was asked to give a talk. I Immediately contacted the CEOAS student union and they assured me that I was not crossing the picket line or scabbing. whew.
I really hope they find a way to a satisfying end to the strike.

Sigh. Got my first update about my grad applications today(!) and found out I’ve been waitlisted, because of the uncertainty with funding. My application was “outstanding” but the situation didn’t fall quite right. Really appreciate the PI emailing me personally though, means a lot.
