Slightly to the left of the three craters a bright feature wiggles its way towards the bottom of the picture. This is Rupes Altai, a scarp formed by the impact that created Mare Nectaris.

Jupiter imaged with North up. The Great Red Spot is centre of the planet in the South Equatorial Belt. The South Temperate Belt shows 3 white ovals, and the North Equatorial Belt shows irregularities. Further north, two dark ovals are visible.

Sinus Iridum (Bay of Rainbows) and Plato. Several crater lets are visible on the floor of the lava filled crater Plato The prominent crater Copernicus, centre frame, with ejecta rays and numerous smaller craters around it. Tycho and the Southern Highlands. Clavius is the large crater below the prominent Tycho near the top of the frame

Plato is the crater just left of centre, with some small crater lets visible on the dark floor. The Alpine Valley runs up to the centre right, with hints of the central rille visible. Hadley Rille is the small sinuous rille just below and to the right of centre. Apollo 15 landed just to the right of the curve in the rille.

Posidonius is the prominent crater with the fractured floor just below centre and to the left of the image. Above are the prominent craters Atlas (right) and Hercules (left, with crater on floor). Above and to the right is Endymion, and beyond that is Mare Humboldtianum.
