Shout out to Akbar who found this rare piece of fossil chimaera tooth plate on last weekends's fossil walk! Chimeras are shark-like fish, with teeth designed for crushing and grinding their shelly prey. #FossilFriday

These alien looking animals, despite their plant-like looks, are actually close relatives of starfish, sea urchins and even sea cucumbers!

The Centre is open this weekend, for all your fossil hunting tips and safety advice! We are open 10.30am-3.45pm Saturday & Sunday.

The Centre will be closed Monday 9th & Tuesday 10th for essential maintenance. charmouth.org/chcc/opening...

Some careful prep work between him grinding the rock down and Chris and Alex Moore using air pens revealed these stunning 190 million year old fossils!
