$43 billion in taxpayer money could have been spent on making childcare more affordable or helping families afford their health care, but instead, the president chose to spend your money on another war in the Middle East.

Parent thinking about uni? The Childcare Grant can cover up to 85% of childcare costs: up to £199.62 a week for one child, £342.24 for two or more. It's a grant, so you don't repay it.

You need to study full-time, with children under 15 (under 17 with SEN).

Liberals are center left. They pass what they can get passed with the votes they have. They support universal healthcare, free childcare, free community college & trade school. Those are center left policies.

From a purely economic, healthcare and childcare standpoint, the American middle class should start getting much more comfortable with the idea of the throuple.

We can’t treat higher education as a luxury. It is a foundational need for a thriving society, like healthcare and childcare. Campuses enrich the communities around them, from adult learning classes to events to the students who support local businesses.

Sounds like someone forgot to remind him that there is a housing crisis (especially true for under 40s) and young families can't move to where there are no ongoing jobs, affordable housing, or hospitals/childcare for them and their kids.

Real "let them eat cake-crumbs" moment.

Slow clap.

I think you’re confusing “materialism” with “vast economic instability”.

Fucking free childcare doesn’t change the fact that many would be parents don’t trust that they will be employed for 20 years.

NYC parents want affordable childcare. But they don't all want the same thing.

A citywide survey of parents with young children shows that parents’ needs vary by income, race and neighborhood.

i mean, the costs that seem to stop people are primarily time or lifestyle related, and it’s just not possible, as a policy matter, to address gigantic chunks of that with anything other than some way of restructuring society to produce absurdly more childcare workers

Maybe Bezos isn’t including care workers, service workers or delivery workers?

Oh, wait, jobs disproportionately staffed by women and POC.

Follow up question, what will white men do with all of that free time? More childcare, homemaking, and elder care for their families?

It's telling that men would rather try to invent tech to replace humans' role in caregiving than step up as equal partners in parenting.

Telling, that is, in that it shows how financial capitalism and patriarchy work together to dissuade men from doing "unprofitable" labor, like the work of care.

Amy Acton: So much of what we want to do in our administration is growing the capacity of small business in community. We have over 1 million small businesses in Ohio. It's energy costs going up, it's childcare issues, it's making it all work, so I'd love your thoughts on that.

Democrats know the assignment.

Jeffries says House priorities are: restoring health care funding and ACA tax credits, addressing housing, childcare and utility costs, and challenging tariffs.

Senate priorities: covers housing, energy, groceries and health care.

Our assignment is to vote blue.

Childcare, whether conducted by parents or professionals, is care work. We know that because the word "care" is in the term childcare.

We hear about some tech billionaire or rando tech bro's constantly bragging how they offload childcare and parenting on technology (and their spouses.)

You should stay and let Parker be part of your testimony - it's important that Council experiences constituents realities, and having childcare fall through is certainly a reality many parents face! It's totally relevant to what you're speaking about too.
