Just out! CHIP50.org report looking at who uses TikTok, given its imminent (possible) demise. The TLDR: it's disproportionately younger people, persons of color, women. But the rise of TikTok also tells us a lot about the relative stasis of the social media economy.

Just out! CHIP50.org report looking at who uses TikTok, given its imminent (possible) demise. The TLDR: it's disproportionately younger people, persons of color, women. But the rise of TikTok also tells us a lot about the relative stasis of the social media economy.

I was looking at the CHIP50 data. Among young Hispanic men age 21-30, Trump's net job approval is down a staggering 40.4 points since January. That's a much bigger drop than among Black men (down 16.5 points) or white men (down 12.2 points) in the same age group.

Just posted my evaluation of what happened in the 2024 election, based on CHIP50 data. The TLDR is that the 2020 to 2024 shift was mostly a backlash of younger individuals against what had been a pretty lousy 4 years for them.

In our CHIP50 pre-election survey, the Dem margin among 30 and under dropped 20 pts from 2020; & among those older than 30, improved by 3 points. The national shift reflected the massive drop in youth support everywhere.
