Historically, substantial budget and potential for corruption are usually why things like coroners and clerks are elected; clerks do the work of auditors a lot of time too, the people responsible for officially recording stuff have substantial power and authority

Dems have to get to work INSTANTLY to protect the '28 elections, choose better leadership, and use every possible tool to go after every chud from POTUS down to clerks in ICE compounds. No forgiveness, no reaching across the aisle, no complacency.
