I was lucky to move to TO in the late 80s when I, a working class kid, could afford rent and almost nightly concerts and clubs with enough left to eat. We've made such experiences very difficult now for the average kid who is looking for that. It's bad for them and bad for the life of the city.

This is why I am able to see so many concerts. I sparingly get the $200 Ticketmaster arena acts. It's mostly indie folk, rock, metal, typically $30-50, and sometimes I go 60-100. I prefer seeing bands in small clubs anyway!

In the past couple of years, I've started going to concerts alone mainly because my friends don't have the same taste in music as me. I'm sad I missed out on seeing so many bands all of those years because I didn't want to go by myself.

This is days after the discourse, but my take on terminal 5 is that it’s not the best venue, and that some of the people who go to concerts there are deranged f*gs

La chose qui m'a le plus déçu dernièrement c'est d'apprendre que Céline Dion ne chantait pas toutes ses chansons en live lors de ses concerts à Paris. Je veux dire je ne suis pas un "fan" mais je m'attendais pas à ça d'elle.
Plusieurs chansons sont en playback sans que ce soit mentionné.

If ppl recall, she had to cancel three Vienna concerts for credible terrorist threats. That’s extremely wild, especially for a CONCERT. Can you imagine if they’d have succeeded? Idk what you do after that happens, but damn.

The idea that going to concerts or sporting events or movies alone is weird or sad is objectively ridiculous. I enjoy attending things with friends of course but going alone is such a treat. The ability to totally focus on the event at hand is one of my favorite things.

Oh, Powerman 5000 was also an opener at that show.

Oh ffs, he's done that kind of stuff at his concerts for decades. Why should he stop just because some blowhards decided to try pushing lies about him? the man is a shock performer; clutching your pearls over shock aspects is an absolute joke. 😂

When it did it was mostly construed as a signal (along with the openings of new fast-casual restaurants and proliferating billionaire-funded street concerts) of San Francisco's comeback or as justification.
