- Finding the Zombie Caravan.
- The minigame at the Zombie Caravan.
- Finding the final area of the game.
This might be a longer list than COTM, but I still recommend Shantae GBC over COTM despite that. COTM is a worse game.

Not as difficult as CotM but at times it felt too easy. I feel like I cheesed my way through the True Final Boss with just my whip and a bunch of potions. Backtracking around the castles towards the end was a slog but I still had fun. #beatit2026

I've saved cotm and harmony of dissonance so long that like. They have this insane aura. Games that can drive people to madness or literally be their goats in equal turn

I'd have Super Castlevania IV over the original but the original over CotM is correct because CotM sucks and people need to know that. I'd put Harmony of Dissonance in over CotM.

It adds so much depth to Soma Cruz's moveset similar to how I gave credit to the DSS system in CotM. However unlike CotM, you don't have to worry about any terrible RNG this time. The enemy drops for collecting souls is a lot more generous to the player compared to the cards in CotM.

CotM is a firmly middle child castlevania game ala C II but it’s got the best opening and last quarter of the three gba titles

happy to see cotm and hod on the board... they've got issues but they're such interesting little meals in terms of what they were trying to do/prove/etc. and the old sinking sanctuary mix in cotm is really nice

-is that most of them don't feel like pushovers like in SotN or feel brutally cheap like CotM. The best bosses feel like a genuine fair challenge, while being both incredibly well designed and fun to fight. Which makes me excited to see how the DS games will stack up on the boss front.

Death's battle is great, Balore was a fantastic surprise, Julius Belmont is Hugh's fight in CotM done absolutely right; and Chaos is a fantastic true final boss that ends the game off perfectly. Those are all the big highlights that stood out to me. But the best part of this game's boss line up-

In fact, I low key enjoyed it. At least a bit more than Circle of the Moon anyways. I still wouldn't say that Harmony of Dissonance is great, it does have it's own problems that make it feel underwhelming. But there is some genuine improvements that this game does have over CotM.

Well... If I had to pick between this or CotM? I'd say my thoughts are pretty neck and neck. But if I had to pick one over the other? I'd probably say Harmony of Dissonance is the slightly better game imo. Despite all my problems with it being a lesser SotN. It does have genuine improvements-
