"So you sailed on the Calypso on taxpayer money, across the oceans, diving here and there? For YEARS??
YOU DIRTBAG!!"

"I believe that was Jacques Cousteau?"

On 3rd October 1976, Jacques Cousteau makes the first manned submersible dive to the wreck of the Britannic in the vessel SP-350, nicknamed 'Denise'. Two days later Titanic historian William H Tantum IV visits the wreck with Cousteau.

"You never conducted a war on Christmas? You deny that members of your team abducted & tortured Santa Claus?"
"No sir, that was Jack Skellington."
"Then what about the covert underwater surveillance activities you carried out in the Red Sea in 1967?"
"Sir, that was Jacques Cousteau."

Cousteauův experiment Conshelf Two z roku 1963 prověřoval, zda může…

Senator Schmitt: We have proof! In fact aren't you a former French naval officer and internationally known oceanographer?

Jack Smith: First of all it's Jack, not Jacques. I am not Jacques Cousteau.

In my best Jacques Cousteau voice...

Periodically, The Pillsbury Dough Boy Whale species beaches itself for unknown reasons. Some have speculated that a high Ketamine content is found in the shrimp and krill that they ingest, causing them to not make the distinction between land and ocean.

If you flip the Cousteau album, Calypso is track 1, side 2.

Niche example: Jean Michel Jarre albums. Lead single until maybe the mid 90s was *almost* always track 1, side two of the LP/cassette.

Oxygene 4/Equinoxe 5/Magnetic Fields 2/Zoolook/Rendevous 4/Revolutions/Chronlogie 4 - all track 1 side 2

The one exception: 1990's Waiting For Cousteau (Calypso)

🇮🇨 El mar, una vez que lanza su hechizo, mantiene a uno en su red de asombro para siempre.

🇬🇧 The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.

🇸🇪 Havet, när det väl kastar sin förtrollning, håller en i sitt nät av förundran för alltid.

One of Jacques Cousteau’s signature works was a book called Life and Death in a Coral Sea so titled because there was a significant amount of death that happened. I basically worshiped Jacques Cousteau as a kid and have a first edition hardcover edition of this book. archive.org/details/life...
