Then they haven't invoked CH 32.2 of CUSMA or XXI of the GATT? This will be interesting then.. I'm not sure what they're thinking. Yes, FN consultation is a must for all of these projects, & they deserve to be heard with their concerns which are more than valid.

I agree with this, though because Canada is under economic attack from the united states, under ch 32.2 of CUSMA & XXI of the GATT we can designate our infrastructure as national security assets to protect ourselves. Although, I'm not sure if those mechanisms are at work here for this designation.

He broke the terms of the CUSMA free trade agreement he signed in his first term (after crowing about how great the deal was for the US) by unilaterally imposing trade tariffs on Canadian products. Canada pushed back and Canadians decided to boycott the US when Trump threatened our sovereignty.
