Airway Epithelium-derived CXCL14 Promotes Eosinophil Accumulation in Allergic Airway Inflammation - PubMed
CXCL14 (C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 14) is expressed in the airway epithelial cells of patients with asthma. However, the mechanisms of CXCL14 secretion and its effects on asthma pathogenesis remain…

That’s a good question. In the preprint we present data that in our view suggest rhythmic GP340 mediated entry of S aureus into mammalian epithelial cells. See also Tsujihana et al 2022 for a CXCL14 mediated immune rhythm. But if S aureus itself has a clock is unpublished.

We also show that the chemokine Cxcl14 is expressed in otic hair cells and hindbrain entry points, coinciding in time with axons targeting those regions. When abrogated, pioneer axons show navigation and targeting defects, indicating that the chemokine is a novel inner ear guidance cue. 3/3

COPD reshapes the tumor microenvironment of NSCLC and enhances anti-PD-1 therapy response
Chen et al. show that COPD reshapes the lung epithelium in NSCLC, expanding CXCL14+ basal-like tumor cells. These cells recruit macrophages producing CXCL9 through the CXCL14-CXCR4 axis, creating an immune-permissive niche that enhances the anti-PD-1 inhibitor response.

Engineered CXCL14-Fc fusion proteins improve the poor stability and short half-life of native CXCL14. By linking CXCL14 to an Fc domain, they gain prolonged exposure and enhanced activity, enabling sustained immunomodulation and tumour-suppressive effects across multiple cancers.
