I am very sad to hear Nick Elam died last month. He mentored me for a year at #CainePrize as Administrator of Africa's most prestigious literary award in 2010 when I was pregnant & living in E.Cape, SA. Generous & kind, his support got me through difficult times. RIP Nick & thanks for everything.

Congratulations to #SerendipityLit author Simba Kundizeza on being shortlisted for the 2026 Caine Prize for African Writing for his short story THE BLUE FIGHTER!
