Lots more #fish spawn than in previous years in urban canal, thanks to frazzled feline lifelines and overhanging plants: space to lay eggs an hide from predators. #urbannature #CanalCamLeiden #Leiden

A precious juvenile tench (<20cm) in the urban fish reservation in #Leiden, NL.
Caught on the CanalCam Leiden, foraging with an adult.

if y'all like CCC, try the #CanalCamLeiden, in an urban canal in a #fishreservation in the Netherlands! Usually clearer than the famous Utrecht Fishdoorbell #visdeurbel . With individually recognizable tench, bream, rudd, pike etc. Enjoy!

Re: disease: I've been looking at the #CanalCamLeiden at roach and rudd, and yes: more and more each day have white spots on trailing edges of their fins. The salinity and foul bacteria have been increasing due to the lack of rain--> no flushing concentrated canal water to sea for weeks, now.

#CanalCamLeiden)
