July 5 #CanonG5XmarkII: Rainy day drive.

One thing I've gotten really lazy about taking phone pics (one of many) is not just letting autofocus do the job for me. Choosing to focus on either the rainy landscape outside or raindrops on the window was really neat!

With Skuld to drive me there & to hold on to, I managed a whole 24 minutes of walking in the woods, and it was WONDERFUL. Scents! Colors! A calm river under dappled tree shadows. Cool shade and blue skies... Grateful to have a garden to enjoy at home, but I've missed going places. #CanonG5XmarkII

And I've been keeping up this attempt at taking a picture with my actual #CanonG5XmarkII camera every day! Just catching up on posting them here now. I feel I'm getting more comfortable with the manual controls?Here's July 16-19, with July 20-23 (which got a lot more colorful!) in the comment.

Tried some landscape shots for today's #CanonG5XmarkII photo, but with a sunny break in dark clouds over a dark forest I couldn't figure out the best settings for capturing the scene. So used to that being automatic - hence this pic a day thing to give me practice. Liked how this turned out though!
Rocks (granite I think?) just under the surface of a lake with peat-brown water. The silver edge of a sunlit cloud is reflected in part of it.

I brought my camera with me yesterday for my blood work appointment at 8:00, thinking I could get my daily photo on the way. Little did I know I'd be admitted indefinitely instead of going back home, but. At least I didn't break my #CanonG5XmarkII photo streak? These are all from July 28th.

I got my first camera at 11 & I loved it. At 25 my first digital camera was my faithful companion. But at 34: first smartphone. So light! So always there! But I miss using a camera. Felt guilty all trip for defaulting to my phone. So I'm trying a thing: 1 #CanonG5XmarkII pic a day in July. Here 1-4:
Sun falling through a delicate bladder campion flower. Light purple Blue-sow-thistle behind the rectangle of a wire fence. Dark skies over a row of apartment buildings in cloud shadow. In the foreground, a wall of saplings are still in full sunlight, but the darkness is closing in. A row of pride banners attached to light poles on the curve of a cement bridge above the road where I'm standing (which can't be seen). There are heavy clouds in the sky, but it's sunny.

Super proud to have done a #CanonG5XmarkII shot a day all July, despite health havoc and hospitalization! I don't think I posted every single one here, but here's a roundup of the last of them. Two hospital window views, a happy reunion with cats, and I loved the colors of the mint on that plate!

Fluffy gray Meenie cat and her white and gray sister Nora in profile as they lie next to each other on the sofa. A few sprigs of mostly plucked mint (with flowers!) on a small red plate on a dark table. An early morning green forest hill see through a foggy window, where the houses nearer the viewer are all smudged. The sky is clear, and yellowish blue.
