Spotted this one in the wild and like sure, in theory Adam Smith's description of capitalism sounds great but it has never once actually worked that way. So capitalism and crony state corporatism will remain the same thing.

Anyone who says this has never worked in corporate America. Waste, fraud & corruption come from people, not government. Capitalism brain rot has made us forget WE PAY FOR THE GOVERNMENT so it can provide services. It never needs to make a profit. And that’s in complete opposition to business.

it's wild how many americans don't realize that capitalism has never worked for the vast majority of americans, the "golden age" of american capitalism was a blip achieved mostly through plundering the global south and the spoils were only shared with workers to look better than the soviet union.

As far I’m aware, ending capitalism has never worked. Accelerationists have ended democracy, but not capitalism. People don’t ask enough questions about that.

I think a big problem with politics right now is that social democrats who are very used to compromising with capitalism (something that, broadly speaking, has paid dividends throughout history) are unthinkingly taking the same approach with fascism, despite that never having worked out in the past

2. This isn't the 1950s-90s. It's not the McCarthy era. There is no Red Scare. Calling someone a socialist or even a communist is no longer an insult when everyone age <45-ish has only ever known a world where capitalism has consistently screwed us and has never worked for us in our adult lifetimes.

No we didn't have genuine government support. The government in the US has always worked for Capitalism. We've never held systemic power.
