i think part of the reason i feel like i am going crazy all the time is that the entire apparatus of tech capitalism is focused on selling a product no one wanted or asked for that doesn't work ("AI") and the entire government apparatus is focused on pretending we aren't enabling a genocide.

Nobody starts off with "we need to abolish capitalism." Everyone starts off trying to tackle a concrete and existential problem. And we all wind up concluding "we need t abolish capitalism" because, and this is the big secret, capitalism is actively enabling these existential problems.

I don't think liberals are fascist but historically liberal institutions can end up accommodating or enabling fascism when capitalism is in crisis. Germany, Italy, Spain, Chile, France, even the United States.
