#CarSoS was especially lovely tonight with #CitroenDS: #TimShaw and #FuzzTownshend took a trip to #France to rescue 94-year-old wartime hero Roger's 1968 Citroen DS. But they struggled with its radical design features. (S6 Ep5/10) Fuzz also enjoyed the DS evolutionary SM model perfection 👌

My favourite programme. Love the restorations which are more authentic than the awful CarSOS etc. At least you know the actual costs.

94yr old Roger's only regret was his late wife of 72 years married who died two years prior wouldn't be with him as he was taking a planned holiday drive; having been surprised by his family with his own fully restored beauty. Wonderful family, car, true WWII Resistance hero & #CarSoS team. Bravo 💖

#CarSoS Roger's 1968 #Citroën DS S6 Ep brought from #France in a truly sorry state; fully restored by the team for Roger a 94 year old WWII #FrenchResistance fighter "the last of us" who bought his truly beloved Citroën brand new. Classic maroon with white it is a magnificent tear jerker at reveal.

I'm secretly hoping that in about twenty years there'll be a tech equivalent of CarSOS - where they steal my Amiga 1200 away and make it complete once more 🤦🏻♂️👍🏻

They ran the #CarSOS episode restoring the #LamborghiniEspada last night & made so much more sense of the #Espada than any of the in period flash adverts. Watching that "work of art" engine out of the vehicle, being run test on the bench; was exciting stuff. Original factory colour bright blue 👌🙏

The professional restorations can get quite expensive (10's x 1,000's), and some of the time-lapse on shows like #CarSOS can be deceptive. Seamless replacement of formed-metal (e.g. Door frames, windshield frame, etc) requires quite a bit of skill, and equipment, at times.
