The OCD emphasized the importance of preparedness as the situation develops, urging communities to take proactive steps to manage water usage and reduce the risk of water scarcity. The news comes amid reports of P6.87 billion in agricultural damage and losses due to the ongoing El Niño impact, highlighting the significant economic and social challenges posed by this weather phenomenon. With the threat of extended dry spells and rising temperatures, the government's focus on early warning systems and community engagement is critical to minimizing the adverse effects on vulnerable populations.
