Not to mention that you can see this dynamic at play with *every* RPG; a game is either "like Persona" or "like Final Fantasy" (which is itself a wack statement considering FF has ZERO COHESION as a franchise!) or gets treated like some weird wacky nonsense that came out of nowhere, wow.
