Great design with lots of room for sensors, a dial, a buzzer, and a decently sized battery! Mine is 1100mAh and lasts 10-12 days on a full charge thanks to the crazy efficient nRF52 chipset.

(i followed the instructions from phillymesh which, i mean, technically worked. but man that was some tragically underdeveloped firmware. aaaand maybe i want to add on a cardkb keyboard eventually

might get a screen-less device for meshcore idk)

Falling down the #meshtastic rabbit hole has led me to the point where I'm learning Fusion 360 to design my own nodes, lol.

This is the 1st prototype of the Minimesh! A compact portable node with a 3000mAh battery & M5Stack CardKB, running on an nRF52 fakeTec. Battery life is roughly 2 weeks!

after reading criticisms of the t-deck i really want to just get a cardkb and attach it to something. which i guess is something that works with meshtastic but not with meshcore?

i feel like i should check back in re: meshcore in a couple years to see if the firmware and documentation improve

It didn't even take me one month to upgrade to some nicer hardware LOL

I also have 3 other working nodes, with parts for a 5th on the way. Been researching weatherproof cases and solar panels, too. Surprised how many other nodes there are here! Coverage is still poor, but I'm gonna try to fix that!
A fakeTec-based Meshtastic node, printed in matte olive green filament. There is a black dial at the upper right of the unit. The screen displays the text "5panel.dance Home Base 3 minutes ago Signal: 77% ? km" The string "5P.D" is embossed vertically on the lower right side of the unit, which is the 4-character "short name" this node broadcasts to others nearby. The same node from another angle. There is a USB C connector cutout on the bottom, with another cutout beside it for an M5Stack CardKB connector, which is currently unpopulated. The back half of the case is printed in matte grey filament.

Looking for an USB-C (mostly) HUB that can fits inside the case of my DIY FreeBSD "phone"
Hello to everyone. I'm trying to assemble my DIY cyberdeck. Below you can see what are the main components that I have chosen. For example the Radxa Zero 3W as a main board,as keyboard I've chosen the CardKB,as "mouse" the Circle Trackpad. Taking in consideration that the Radxa Zero has one only USB-C port for transferring data,what I need is an HUB to connect to that USB-C port at least the trackpad and the keyboard. The trackpad works because it is connected to the Svlinky controller that ends with a USB-C female connector. The keyboard should be connected to the Radxa through its Groove to USB-C cable that ends with one USB-C female. Now,I want to connect these two USB-C females to the Raxda board. On Aliexpress I found the HUB that fits perfectly on the space available but it's not good for the trasferring of data. It offers two USB-C male,one on the left and one on the right to connect the trackpad and the keyboard and one USB-female to get the power from the Radxa board. I would have connected one USB-C to USB-C male converter to attach the HUB to the radxa board. It's a shame that it will not work. Aanyway,it is not even perfect. What I'm looking for is an HUB with 2 USB-C male port (one for the keyboard,one for the circle trackpad and one USB-A FEMALE port for the dongle WI-FI. Or maybe an HUB with 3 USB-C female ports. And I will use an adapter USB-C (male or female ?) to USB-A (female) to connect the Wi-Fi dongle. I'm sure that the HUB that I'm looking for exists,but It seems hard to find it at least for me....because it should be small,since I have a very little space available inside the case...please help me. PS : no soldering. Very thanks.
