(Bought a Cardputer ADV on a whim–or in a fit of boredom while at the hospital–but that hasn't arrived yet. I do have a LoRa hat for it, so at least I can play with two nodes when it does. Sadly, the friend I bought a second Heltec for moved away, so I have to join the wider mesh to find him!)

Also got the termination load for the RP-SMA connector on my GNSS/LoRa 1262 and CC101/NFC caps for my Cardputer Adv. When I'm not running real antennae these little doohickeys (say, for pocketability) these should stop the unit from smoking its own radio circuitry.
It's my Cardputer Adv with the GNSS/LoRa 1262 Cap installed on the top GPIO port (not new). On the left is the NFC module (not new). However, instead of an antenna on the RP-SMA connector on the upper-right side of the 1262 Cap I have installed a small, brass(?)-looking antenna that doesn't really broadcast or receive but can absorb/impede a fairly tremendous amount of current, thereby protecting the circuitry that powers the radio.

Figure these would be good for when I want to carry my main Cardputer Adv around but don't want to lug the 915MHz LoRa antenna. Frankly, I should probably get a standalone M5Stack GPS v1.1 module to mate to my new CC1101/NFC cap so I have a robust mix of features available to me in multiple configs.
This is basically a standalone module version of the GNSS functionality from the M5Stack GNSS/LoRa 1262 cap that can plug into other circuits and devices five its 4-pin grove connector. Product specs marketing image for the M5Stack Unit GPS v1.1 which shows that it connects via the UART protocol over 1152000bps (via COMs, maybe? Not quite sure how UART works but one can appreciate how satcom would benefit from UART over I2C to get the benefits of asynchronous data flow). M5Stack's new CC1101 cap for the top GPIO port on the Cardputer Adv. This cap provides CC1101 functionality that puts the Cardputer largely on par with the capabilities of a Flipper Zero (minus its IR functionality, which can also be addressed with a separate module). This cap does, in fact, service a ton of radio protocols that small devices such as key fobs use (315 MHz is our Huckleberry in that context though this device lacks 125 KHz functionality, as do a lot of SDR doodads (but notably _not_ the Proxmarks)) and in addition it can also do NFC. It does 868 MHz but I believe that in this case it's _not_ doing that over LoRa protocol since the CC1101 isn't an SX1262 (which is what is in the GNSS/LoRa Cap).

Also thinking I should get a pair of dummy/termination loads for the RP-SMA connectors on my Cardputer Adv's various caps and the RP-SMA connectors on them for when I want to run them without the antennae. I mean, I could probably just run the stock antennae but the termination loads are smaller.
These are termination loads that help ensure that radio devices don't cook themselves with their own voltage when being run without their designated antennae. This is also useful for preventing the device from actually broadcasting or releasing any RF signals if that's a concern (and it might be) as these loads effectively isolate and insulate signals from propagating further the way a real antenna might.

Someone seems to be developing a sort of virtual terrarium for the Cardputer Adv. It even uses the onboard sensor data for influencing its internal environment. Doesn't seem to be complete yet but it strikes me as sort of a lightweight Seaman type of affair.

I don't think there is a release yet.
Pixel art of some kind of terrarium that the dev is creating. It shows a bunch of data in various corners and other than that contains a low-res pixel art view of the virtual terrarium complete with mostly foliage of various sorts. The dev post suggests that there will also be animals and bugs and whatnot that can be put in there, or that's the intent anyway.

Oh! There is the ESP32-based Cardputer docs.m5stack.com/en/core/Card... which is cheap but in turn has a very small display and keyboard, I do think you could put together a larger display and keyboard kit for that

Looks as though the strange ESP32 device the POOM is now available for general purpose. It seems to be sort of part Cardputer Adv or Flipper Zero-esque pentest gadget and part portable game console. It's quite a strange thing indeed. Gotta wait until next month to order it though.

Are you on Cardputer Adv? If it's giving you trouble have you checked that the switch on the grove connector on the side of the device is set to SVOUT? Not sure if that connector counts as a Port B or not.

Frankly, if they drop this rumored Cardputer Next with a dual ESP32-P4 and a C5 (seems to be a popular pairing on the higher end up ESP32 MCU platform packages and it's speculated to be the proper successor to the Cardputer Adv's ESP32-S3 package) then supporting that will likely offer big screen.

Woah, dang! Big news in the r/Cardputer sub-Reddit: the rsvp eBook reading firmware can now read .epub files! Can even render the book covers in full color! Handy dandy stuff. Reading on the Cardputer Adv's ST7789V2 screen might be a little iffy long term but it's still cool to have the option.

On the upside, just got all the M5Stack modules I ordered factory direct! The M5Stack box has better capacity than expected! Could hold a whole Cardputer Adv and several modules in one!

Ah, no. My mistake. It's perfect for loading from M5Launcher. Just gotta install the SD card files from a .zip and then the .bin is already precompiled on the Github. Hmmm~!

Will definitely be putting this onto the new SD card for the 2nd Cardputer Adv at some point.
