🇪🇸 #CarmenAmaya was a revolutionary flamenco artist with explosive, high-speed footwork. Born in Barcelona, Carmen was a Spanish Romani (Gitana) dancer and singer who became an international star. She boldly included steps that were often treated as “male” territory at the time. 💃 a Queen of #Spain 🔄

As the sun begins to set over Begur, the sky transforms into a tapestry of warm golds, dusky pinks, and deepening purples. #photography #monochrome #begur #urbanphotography #flamenco #sunsets #carmenamaya #costabrava #spain #dans
As the sun begins to set over Begur, the sky transforms into a tapestry of warm golds, dusky pinks, and deepening purples. The Mediterranean, calm and reflective, mirrors the shifting light, casting a gentle glow over the Costa Brava cliffs. A soft breeze carries the scent of salt and pine through the narrow, cobbled streets, where the day's last light touches the façades of whitewashed houses with a quiet, golden brush. In the heart of town, standing with quiet dignity, is the bronze statue of Carmen Amaya the legendary flamenco dancer who once called this place home. Her figure is caught in motion, one arm raised in passion, feet rooted like the beat of a dancer’s sole against tablao. The fading sun catches on the curves of her sculpture, accentuating her fierce grace, her strength immortalized in metal. Locals and visitors pause in front of her, some in silent reverence, others in admiration, as if the rhythm of her dance still lingers in the air. Behind her, the coastal landscape stretches out toward the sea, now bathed in the amber hues of twilight. In this moment, Begur holds its breath past and present, art and nature, all caught in the stillness of a beautiful sunset.
