I’m choosing to interpret “not just morally wicked” as agreement that they are morally wicked AND…but those incentives are self-serving and myopic, the French didn’t come up with noblesse oblige because it warmed their hackles, and Carnegie didn’t build libraries everywhere to save his soul.
