For day 359 of the #HobbyStreak, I painted up a third Carnodon tank to add to the Solar Auxilia & complete the squadron

Turn Five. Two more Ork mobs spawn at the back and begin advancing. The Warboss is finally taken down by a lascannon shot just before it can charged the damaged Carnodon. Meanwhile the flamer Carnodon backs out of combat and roasts its attackers. (6/7)

Turn Two. The infantry and command squads on the left engage an Ork squad, while the flamer Carnodon on the right successfully toasts an entire squad. But a surprise spawn of a new Ork squad in the centre leads to a charge on the heavy bolter Carnodon, and it is lucky to survive on 1 wound. (3/7)

Turn Four. The Warboss in the centre wipes out the Infantry Squad with ease, and is pinned with a hail of gunfire from the Carnodon. Meanwhile the other Carnodon on the right is badly damaged by another surprise Ork charge. (5/7)

There's something about flamer templates that makes them so satisfying to use. Particularly if there are two of them, and particularly if they're roasting an entire squad of Orks.
A Carnodon tank, approaching a squad of Orks and using both heavy flamers on it. Two templates are laid down to determine who is hit, and are covering the entire Ork squad in a very satisfying way.

Turn Six. With just enough time to prepare a gunline, the Militia are ready for the next assault. The flamer Carnodon roasts its third squad of Orks, sending them fleeing, while the heavy bolter fire from the other (with some laspistol shots) sends the final Ork squad after them. (7/7)
Battle Map for Turn Six. The damaged Carnodon, parked on the crossroads which were my main objective, at the end of the game. The last few Orks flee into the trees, leaving the field for the Imperialis Militia.

Turn One. The Ork Horde gets first turn and advances aggressively. The Militia move forwards and pour fire into the Orks, but inflict only a single casualty, the Orks’ Feel No Pains shrugging several more hits. (2/7)

Turn Three. The Carnodon in the centre disengages, only to be pinned by a heroic/suicidal charge from the infantry squad. Miraculously it survives. Meanwhile on the left and right, an Ork mob and a Wierdboy are wiped out – although the command squad is down to two models. (4/7)

Same, I've got a coupleof Carnodon squadrons and a Basilisk to do and I'm on about week 3 of doing literally anything else. It looks lovely when done but I wish we could just go straight to that without the awful intermediate step where I paint it.

Solar aux do feel like theres a bit missing with their kits, like the lack of the carnodon/aurox. Or literally any assault transport.
