For more recent conflicts (9000 years) there are statues with inscriptions describing what happened in detail as warnings.

27. Byways: the hard-mode option

The seas, mostly. Even with good ships, and on some of the calmer seas, it's still more dangerous and unpredictable than land or river ways.

Roads and river trade.

24. The absolute boonies

By far the largest, most avoided place is the Cabayian Desert. Nothing grows there, there's salt in the sand and only the Sparkling Salt Snake lives there, and there are superstitions of consequences for harming one.

I would definitely want to visit the Kingdom of Neony, where it all began (creation wise). With its lofty hills, enchanting forests, grand castles, tournaments, village fetes, talking beasts, mythic creatures, and gods roaming about. Magic permeates the air & love is king.

I love how lush and vibrant @irondragonbooks's map of Drakirü is. She does such a good job of breathing life into it in her books. Learn more at https://akairondragon.ca/ There are so many places on Keverynn that I adore. The one I really want to go to is someplace I haven't talked about much. It's an island chain called Alastea. The version of it I wrote decades ago with my best friend was the inspiration for Keverynn as a whole. It's changed a lot since those days, but its core remains the same.
