The Melania movie is on track to lose Amazon tens of millions of dollars.

The company paid $75 million to acquire and market the movie. In the best-case scenario, the movie is on track to bring them in $10 million.

"In the movie of your life, you're the director," is some privileged nonsense. Most of us are lucky to be gaffer of the movie of our life. (In which case we can at least turn on a light.)

This isn't a case of me seeing a racist movie and revising history to get rid of it.

This is a case of me seeing a racist movie and also seeing its supporters engaged in a century-long revisionist campaign in order to keep it (and its message) in the canon.

Rope (1948) remains one of the most interesting experiments ever attempted by a major director working with big box-office names, and it’s worth seeing.
The movie starred James Stewart, John Dall and Farley Granger in a movie version of a play that was inspired by the Leopold-Loeb murder case.

We’ve seen this movie before, for example with USA Gymnastics, where the FBI dropped the ball…a later OIG investigation revealed that the FBI supervisor in charge of the case was in the process of being interviewed for a job with the U.S. Olympic Committee (or another invested party in that case) 3/

The maintenance alone is actually a pretty good case for why movie popcorn costs so much

Semi-related but it should be noted that the movie Sonic redesign situation was a unique case that can never be replicated again, and shouldn't be so.

↓ thread ↓
Between the character designs of Shrek 5, and now StarFox 2026 both being seen as "Ugly Sonic" situations...

I think some people are forgetting just how BAD Sonic the Hedgehog's initial movie design was. They're not even comparable!
