5/ A human caseworker can make a terrible decision too. The difference is scale. One automated rule can flag, delay or cut thousands of people before anyone discovers the underlying decision was flawed.

When I was a caseworker I couldn't accept a cake from a client because technically it could be misconstrued as an illegal gift

My stepson Devin (30) who was a pedestrian hit by a speeding car iat a crosswalk (1999) in ABQ, NM. TBI, non-verbal (sort of), G-Tube dependent. incontinent and as assessed by his caseworker, a total flirt. 100% care.

I’m a retired income maintenance caseworker who processed SNAP and Medicaid applications so I can attest to that. The very first thing we checked for was citizenship status.

this is why I NEED a caseworker because idfk WTF I'm doing. but my last caseworker cancelled 3 of the 5 appointments we had since February, and the appts I was there for, she was on the phone w her bf and dad—and now I'm on the list for a new caseworker but who tf knows how long that'll take! STRESS

3/ The tool that made the call was not a doctor or a caseworker reviewing a file. It was AI pattern matching, built to flag people for things like barely using their own health coverage, then hand out a mass cancellation before anyone double checked.
