i've never really put thought into how dwarves think of animals, and they'd consider gnomes closer to animals than people. but given dwarves prioritize wealth/social caste and job in their language and thinking, i feel like their language around animals would, ironically, be heavily gendered.

Russia is a caste society, where the upper caste -- around 3 to 5% -- gets to live the western way, and the rest live short and brutal lives. So by living in the west, these people automatically become the upper caste. But they still like the idea of being an upper caste, not some average westerner
