Castle Archdale, last week.

Portrait-oriented, 4:3 photo. Forest floor. A large fern in the centre of the frame, still early in its new growth cycle with fronds relatively upright. Sun is shining through the canopy above and hitting its leaves. There is dappled light on the mixed foliage covering the ground around it. Dark tree trunks in the background.

Apologies to any delicate woodland critters that heard me cursing today after taking a wrong turn & walking for 25 minutes to a dead end in Archdale forest.

Mind you, I was so cross I made it back to the junction in almost half the time.

😄 🥾

Landscape oriented, 4:3 photo. A forest track curves away towards the left where it disappears into trees. There are wildflowers and grass growing on either side of the trail and also down the centre of it. Mixed trees fill the background, while the sky above is blue with some hazy white clouds.

Out for a wander...

🥾

It's a bit choppy on the lough today.

Landscape oriented, 16:9 photo. View out across a lake. The water is turbulent, with lots of small waves and white breakers driven across its surface by the wind. There is a small clump of reeds in the water in the foreground and a duck swimming next to them. Also in the foreground, tree foliage extends into the frame on the right hand side. There is a large, flat topped mountain on the horizon with farmland and woodland on its slopes. Buildings can also be seen on the far shore below the mountain. The sky above it is grey and cloudy but there are a few breaks in the cloud where blue sky and bright light can be seen.
