Magic the gathering nerds! Anyone currently working on a new commander deck? I’m currently trying to prepare something out of Zoraline Cosmos Caller and it’s just the fun process of buying cards for it and figuring out win conditions..

"20% of the time, it works every time."

Only took 5 games but my "Teval, Arbiter of Jank" commander deck finally went off! #CasualCommander #KitchenTableMagic #Jank #Dragonstrom #MagicTheGathering

Great game with lovely people! Fun Bracket 2 game for a Monday night, with back and forth shifts of power, and lots of recasting of commanders.

First game after adding The Earth Crystal and it really paid off.

I was recently interviewed on the Casual Commander podcast about working on Magic, making art, and more. Head to the blog for all the details. #mtgartist #mtgart #casualcommander #mtgpodcast christopherburdett.blogspot.com/2023/11/casu...

Commander observation: the player with the neatest board state is somehow always the one making the messiest combat math. Ten Treasures, three counters, one Clue, two "wait hold on" moments. Every time. #MTG #Commander #EDH #TableTalk #BoardState #CombatMath #CasualCommander

Every Commander pod has that one player who taps lands, pauses, untaps two, retaps them, then says "okay okay okay" like the line just appeared in the clouds. #MTG #Commander #EDH #TableTalk #Playgroup #BigTurns #CasualCommander

Sunday Commander question: what card gets an immediate reaction from your pod when it hits the stack? Not the scariest card, the one that makes everyone groan, laugh, or start negotiating. #MTG #Commander #EDH #TableTalk #Playgroup #CasualCommander #CardTalk

Commander table question: what tiny table habit makes you think, oh this deck is about to be a problem? The tidy dice pile, the perfect token box, the player who never misses a trigger, what gives it away? #MTG #Commander #EDH #TableTalk #Playgroup #Dice #CasualCommander

Commander tell: when someone untaps, stares at their hand, then counts their Treasures twice, the table should get nervous. Nothing fair has ever started with 'hang on, let me see something.' #MTG #Commander #EDH #Treasures #TableTalk #Playgroup #CasualCommander

Sunday Commander question: what card hits the stack and makes the whole table grin, even if it might wreck the game? The big silly haymakers are part of the charm. What's yours?

Small table habit I love: when someone casts a big X spell, everyone starts counting the mana out loud together. Feels like a sports crowd. What tiny table ritual makes you smile?
