#Cataract
Tuesday morning I have my laser cataract surgery. I am a horrible eye patient as I remember my lazy eye surgery at 2-1/2. Even as an adult, they can't get near my eyes with drops or glaucoma puff test. I have to put my drops in.

I am "looking" forward to being able to draw and read again.

Unilateral uveitic congenital cataract caused by Spiroplasma ixodetis
Congenital cataract and uveitis caused by Spiroplasma ixodetis are rare, with only a small number of cases reported worldwide. We report 2 infants with unilateral uveitic congenital cataracts. Both underwent lensectomy and anterior vitrectomy, received intracameral antibiotics, and were postoperatively treated with a topical corticosteroid-antibiotic regimen. Routine microbiological tests were negative, but 16S rRNA PCR detected S. ixodetis in the vitreous and lens. Identification was confirmed by partial sequencing of the Mollicutes 16S-23S rRNA intergenic spacer region and a species-specific real-time PCR targeting rpoB gene of S.

And then she had to have cataract surgery bc while high doses of prednisone definitely helped her symptoms, it caused cataracts. Then there was the time she had a bad reaction to a medication while she was at school and had *another* ambulance ride. This shit is fucked. It needs to change.

No idea re the book sales tbh, I haven’t really checked on it in a while, I know I should but life gets in the way sometimes.
Good news on the cataract front, let’s hope it’s done quick, everyone who has had it done says it’s brilliant, things are clear again.

Good morning Jo
All is well thank you
Finally got a date for my first cataract surgery
It can’t arrive quick enough as the poor vision won’t allow me to concentrate on writing
Holiday before that 😎
How’s your book sales progressing?

Anti-VEGF may lower surgery risk with retinal vein occlusion
Anti-VEGF injections before cataract surgery may protect eyes with retinal vein occlusion from developing postoperative macular edema, according to data published in BMC Ophthalmology. “Patients with [retinal vein occlusion] and concurrent cataract have been shown to benefit from cataract extraction to significantly improve visual outcomes,” Kevin Dahlan, MD, of the department of ophthalmology at Stony Brook University Hospital, and colleagues wrote. “However, [cataract extraction] poses challenges, as it significantly increases the risk of postoperative macular edema in

Yes, you did it for A-level, IIRC. Unfortunately, I was born with a congenital cataract and am blind in one eye. I can only see in 2-d and can't visualise the structure of molecules. I did not get levers and pulleys in Meccano. It was my brilliant friend whom I mentioned yesterday who explained this

Almost any place you go, you get these 3rd party surveys wanting to know what you liked or didn't. They are getting out of hand! I refuse to acknowledge them.😠 I used public transport here in my little town back when I had my cataract surgery. I loved it! They never sent me an inquiry of any kind.🙂
