For the first time in 13 years of collecting the data, the CBRE has found there are now more tech workers in New York than San Francisco.

This seems to have been driven by AI in two ways; AI-driven layoffs in SF and hiring for AI jobs in Finance in NY.

AI giveth and AI taketh away.
New York unseats San Francisco as the top market for tech talent, CBRE reports
AI-related roles now account for nearly one-third of all tech-talent job listings in the U.S., per the new CBRE report.

The property is owned by Trammell Crow, per @bostonglobe.com reporting—as in, the real estate company founded by Harlan Crow's dad where Harlan previously served as CEO before it was acquired by CBRE.

This idea that nobody wants to do business downtown at any price is patently false and only reinforces narratives that harm our city. Don’t suffer the sunk cost fallacy of investing so deeply in the doom loop / “Portland is in fire” frame that you miss what’s blooming in front of you.

Yes, CPRE would say this. But it isn’t the whole story, anymore than lobbying from developers is the whole story

(I put CBRE initially: very different people, I’m tired)

Georgia has no peers for data center construction. It now leads the US.
No other place in the United States currently has as much data center space under construction as the Atlanta area, according to new data from real estate services firm CBRE.
