#CedarFire
The #SantaAnaWinds helped to spread the #CedarFire, which broke out on #ThisDayInHistory in 2003. Still the third-largest #wildfire in #California history, the highly destructive #SanDiegoCounty conflagration consumed 250,000 acres, destroyed 2200 homes, and killed 15 people.

Thank you. I pretty much know them all by now, as well as a lot of firefighters (if they'd please stop retiring!😹) The 2003 CedarFire made it a priority. But it gave me the best dog of my 🧡 in the world, Bear🌈, whom I had 17 years. 💚

DNA testing wasn't a thing then. He had a double layer coat, drooled like a boxer & had a head like a rock. My boss' nephew found him running from the CedarFire in 2003 & brought him to the office. I had a fenced yard. He jumped up, put his paws around my waist & hugged me. He had me at hello.

Paradise💔. Remember in 2017 when the Oro Dam Spillway was failing & people couldn't get gas to evacuate? The first fire I remember since moving to San Diego Co after 9/11 was Guejito in '93, tho 2003 CedarFire was scary bad. I was more about earthquakes before that.
