Giant Wood Rail from Ceibas, Argentina - I really wanted to see this bird and it didn't disappoint; what a beast of a bird!! I like the soft evening light and the bird being in vegetation adds to the "as I saw it" feel of the shot. #Birds #birding #Ceibas #Argentina

We only saw Savannah Hawks around Ceibas in Argentina and less than five in total, but they did give good views. This bird was seen from the entrance road just before we got stuck in deep mud, but thankfully we were quite close to the lodge and they towed us out... #Birds #birding #Ceibas #raptors

A Bare-faced Ibis along with a Brown and Yellow Marshbird and a couple of Rufous Horneros; Argentina's national bird. This was a typical scene at Ceibas, where the ibis was extremely common and could be seen in large flocks flying between wetlands #Birds #birding #Argentina

The rather bizzarely named White-naped Xenopsaris was a passerine related to the becards that reminded me of a heavily billed Blackcap, and was a bird that we only saw at Ceibas in Central Argentina. Mostly skulky but it did show nicely on this one occasion #Birds #birding #argentina

The first and last bird we saw in Argentina was Southern Lapwing which was very common, being noted in roadside verges in Buenos Aires right through to the wetlands of Ceibas. They were very vocal but never in flocks of more than half a dozen or so #birds #birding #Argentina

En route to our final stop in Argentina at Ceibas, we stopped at a small roadside reserve where we enjoyed some excellent new birds such as Freckle-breasted Thornbird, Guira Cuckoo, Savanna Hawk and White Monjita.
