#Centrefire
We had in the family a lot of firearms. After Port Arthur we took most of them to the police station to be destroyed. What we kept (a couple of .22s and one centrefire were stored in a gun safe, bolts stored in a separate safe, ammunition in a third. /

I’m a gun owner, and am not the slightest bit worried.
Because I don’t own high capacity centrefire guns…and after 26 years of having to carry one as part of my job title, I really have no desire.

I already voted Mark. I know he’s not coming for my guns.

There were also cartridge conversions of those old guns, and purpose made ones as all the tools and dies were set up for them.

Those were .44 Rimfire, yes, like the .22 Rimfires still used today.

The issue with them was, at those pressures, there where problems with the rims.

Centrefire solved it

You're just going to get stuck on this aren't you?
It's simple, the specific definition of an assault weapon is defined in the legislation that covers it.
Generally: centrefire, semi-automatic weapons that have large capacity and/or detachable magazines

In Alberta, ".22 calibre centrefire ammunition is now legal for big game, including bears and cougars, raising concerns about non-fatal wounding and increased animal suffering."

No ethical hunter would do this.

Also can some firearms nerd tell me why rimfire and centrefire rifles would belong in a different category? They both fire bullets that kill you yeah? pfes.nt.gov.au/police/firea...

Hehe we did it at home (N. Ireland A .22 air rifle in back yard and out knocking over rabbits for dinner.

Later after the ceasefires we could get .22 rimfire rifles and now, at long last people can get target pistols and deer rifles (.308 centrefire), but nothing is as zen as air rifles 😊

Lol classic Reddit/4chan threads unit!

Start with a BB gun, then pellet gun.. .177 and then .22

Move onto rimfire .22CB's, .22short, .22Long Rifle & .22 magnum before graduation 🎓 to centrefire with .22Hornet 🥳🎉

Should be able to stop .32 and .38acp and only a short hop to .9mm and .40s&w
