in Vegas Centurylink started selling "fiber" and I think it had similar stipulations, and the last mile wasn't even fiber. And worse they somehow underbuilt the node so much you'd get random ping spikes for multiple seconds from it arbitrating the bandwidth

My experience with T-Mobile 5G was pretty abysmal and there's a reason I went back to CenturyLink Fiber which was, somehow less-bad.

We stream everything through an AppleTV box which is connected by Ethernet to the Centurylink modem, so I could turn off the WiFi to the smart TV and try to isolate it from the internet so it isn’t spying on us. Maybe.
