This gets it exactly. Taxes don't fund the government; they keep prices steady and shape what we value. We can afford care for everyone, the only question is whether we choose it. #ChangeTheNarrative
We’re not even asking for that. Federal tax dollars pay for nothing. Their functions are to control inflation and behavior. We have the money to afford nationalized healthcare, and governments assistance programs are stabilizers for the economy. They generate more than they cost.

Right, and that opportunity cost is the real story. Every dollar steered to cronies is a clinic, a classroom, a bridge we chose not to build. Public money should serve the public, full stop. #ChangeTheNarrative
Corrupt transfer of millions to private companies is not just a loss of taxpayer dollars. It is an opportunity cost of all the useful things we should be doing with those dollars.

I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or arguing with me; but either way, I'm with you. Democrats need young, charismatic leaders front and center in their caucus. Time to move the tenured veterans to the back bench. They're still in the game, but they don't count.

To be fair, Mamdani's media presence is amazing. What makes it even better is that he delivers the results of his work himself, presenting it as "this is what I did for you." "We passed the largest climate change spending bill, the IRA Act" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

The #MoneyInMYPocket crowd finds #MoneyOutOfPolitics and #MedicareForAll “toxic” because those policies would actually put money in *our* pockets. El-Sayed proved the agenda wins. #ChangeTheNarrative
Turns out a majority of Dem primary voters were smarter than the people outside MI telling them what they should do in the senate race. Win or lose on Tues, El-Sayed was the right choice. Whether you agree with him on everything or not, he isn’t a lying fraud pretending to be something he’s not.

That credit card line is a keeper! People picture money as a physical thing piled up somewhere, so credit feels like something different, something you need real money to pay off. But the pile is the illusion. Hard to break that illusion. Money is the bookkeeping itself. #ChangeTheNarrative

You nailed the loop: public contracts in, campaign cash out. That money is ours collectively, created for public purpose, so buying influence with it is a theft from everyone it was meant to serve. #ChangeTheNarrative
October 31, 2026 at 5:01 PM
Exactly right to be furious about this. Overpaying friends with public money is a breach against all of us, because that money is created in all our names, for public ends. Friends don't get first dibs. #ChangeTheNarrative
So glad someone asked this question. And why did Kristi Noem overpay for five planes she bought with our taxpayer money from her friends during her last hour in office?
Q: If the administration has declared on waste and fraud, could you explain the $420 million overpayment for a prison in Appleton, MN, when they company offered it to the state for $75m?

BESSENT: I don't know anything about that. That's a waste of our time.

We have been told U.S. a rich country cannot afford #MedicareForAll. That story is backwards. The federal government creates every dollar it spends. It cannot run out. The real limit is the will to do it. (Looking at you, Congress.) Drs, Nurses, clinics, and beds follow from that #ChangeTheNarrative

This one should anger everyone. $16 billion in public contracts flowing to one man who then bankrolls elections is corruption at full scale, and that money exists because we create it together for shared needs, not private empires. #ChangeTheNarrative
Elon Musk Made Off With $16 Billion of Taxpayer Money. He's also a federal contractors, and nearly all of his wealth comes straight from the federal treasury, which hasn't stopped him from making roughly $700 million in campaign contributions over the last three years. PS: it's illegal.
Elon Musk Made Off With $16 Billion of Taxpayer Money
In theory, contractors are legally barred from political giving because that smacks of bribery. In practice, Musk gets a 2,200 percent return on his investment.

Exactly. When they say there was no money for rail but plenty to subsidise short-haul engines, the story falls apart. We create this money, in all of our names. Starving the rail and feeding the polluters was a choice against all of us. #ChangeTheNarrative

Rising prices really do squeeze working people. But printing money is not theft from a fixed stash. We create dollars for public ends, in all of our names. The real theft is when that spending is aimed at gougers instead of us. #ChangeTheNarrative

Propaganda ads are a real abuse, and a court block matters. That money was created in all of our names, as one public, so using it to promote one man is a breach against everyone. #ChangeTheNarrative
October 11, 2026 at 11:50 PM
That anger at being used is real, but blue states do not really fund red states. There are no taxpayers and non-taxpayers, only one public, as in We The People, creating its money. The wealthy use the taxpayer label to divide us by othering some of us.
#ChangeTheNarrative
October 11, 2026 at 4:19 AM
That sneer does the dividing. There are no taxpayers and non-taxpayers, only all of us. Public money is created by all of us for all of us, and children are not a burden to be mocked. We can choose care over contempt. #ChangeTheNarrative

A president turning public power into a Pentagon snuff film is obscene, full stop. That money is created by all of us, in all our names, for public ends. Using it for spectacle is a breach against everyone. #ChangeTheNarrative

The grift is staggering, and it deserves fury. The national debt is not a household tab coming due. It is dollars we created together, in our name, for public ends. Stealing them is a breach against all of us. #ChangeTheNarrative
October 10, 2026 at 3:26 PM
Yes, a stranger's insulin is exactly what a decent public should guarantee. There are no taxpayers and non-taxpayers; that identity is how the wealthy divide us by othering some of us from the rest. We create the money together, and we can choose care over bombing children. #ChangeTheNarrative
October 10, 2026 at 3:43 PM
Real needs go unmet while a big debt number is used to scare us into doing nothing. America creates its own money. The real limit is real resources being available, not a scary total on a ledger we issue ourselves. #ChangeTheNarrative

"He is not looking for money to fund healthcare."

The money was always there, and it gets found for self-promotion.

It only goes missing for healthcare and food.

What's missing is the will to use public money for public purposes. #ChangeTheNarrative
October 9, 2026 at 4:06 AM
Yes, there is always room for a ballroom, a fight, gold statues, and somehow never room for your healthcare. That is not a budget running dry. That is a priority list, written in public, for everyone to read. #ChangeTheNarrative
President Trump has spent taxpayer dollars on a luxury ballroom, UFC fight, gold statues and a costly war with Iran.

Republicans make sure there will always be money to spend on Trump’s vanity but $0 to protect your healthcare.
October 9, 2026 at 4:07 PM
Exactly, and that contrast says everything. Money is always found for self-promotion. It only goes missing for healthcare and food. Scarcity is not a fact here. It is a choice we can refuse. #ChangeTheNarrative
So, the president of the United States can find money to pay for campaign ads with taxpayer dollars, but can’t find money to fund healthcare, or SNAP? Got it!

Exactly right that this was a choice. It was never a choice forced by an empty pot. We can fund childcare and healthcare. Leaders chose war instead, and that choice is theirs to own. #ChangeTheNarrative
$43 billion in taxpayer money could have been spent on making childcare more affordable or helping families afford their health care, but instead, the president chose to spend your money on another war in the Middle East.
