As a science teacher, "position" makes me think of where things are in relation to other things, and then how how those things will interact with each other based on their situation, energy, movement.

I think of the words "over" and "under"...more position/relationship words!

I also think of forces: waves, wind, time.

Makes me feel more hopeful when I expand the definition away from human-centered ideas

Hmm, I think of a place in space, but always in relation to other places. There is no position that exists without reference to something else. I think about my position--professionally, socially, geographically, politically.

"Problem" in science is more closely related to a question or thing to investigate/solve. It doesn't always have the negative connotation. This makes me wonder what needs to be looked at rather than something to groan about. Also, declaring there is a problem doesn't fix it.

Like, two people can be in relationship and move "forward" together, or can be working in opposite directions.
