The City of Chelsea conditionally approved a public–private Timbertown Park upgrade and designated the park as a B2B Trail trailhead, pending further review by the Community Center Work Group and future partnership agreement discussions with HWPI and WCPARC.

The council endorsed a $425,000 state park grant for KM Park and appropriated $825,000 total project funding, accepted multiple grants and donations (United Way $100,000, Mystic Valley $15,000, Carnegie $10,000) and approved an appropriation of $100,000 to the 1 Chelsea emergency fund.

At its March 6 meeting the Chelsea City Council unanimously authorized MPPA energy purchases capped at $3,429,907.20 and approved multiple routine and capital items including park pavilions, a utility switch purchase, three zoning text amendments, and letters of intent with the Chelsea Area Fire Authority and Sylvan Township.

At the meeting the council approved several grant and donation orders — including a $425,000 park grant for KM Park (total project $825,000 appropriation), a $100,000 United Way grant for the 1 Chelsea fund, a $10,000 Carnegie donation to the library and other smaller grants — and rejected an MBTA-requested bus-stop/curb change (item 11) by roll call.
