A review & analysis of @aptshadow.bsky.social's #ChildrenofStrife, an incredible addition to the Children of Time series and a look at what it means to be capable of change – both in our world and in Tchaikovsky's imaginative universe.

Re-reading @aptshadow.bsky.social's Children of Time series on the way to enjoying #ChildrenofStrife, and had to write more about the many fascinating ways Tchaikovsky explores consciousness.

Is continuity of self simply an illusion?

I'm still 100% convinced that Kern is *intentionally* a character played by Majel Barrett, since @aptshadow.bsky.social has rebuilt Star Trek's hopeful future from first principles.

But I have a new mental picture that's personal preference:
Ken Pil in #ChildrenOfStrife as Jeff Bridges.

#ChildrenOfStrife
Alis - Alice
Mira - Mirror
Hartmand - Queen of Hearts
Kott - Cheshire cat
Pils - caterpillar
ALICE IN WONDERLAND is a favorite book of mine so maybe I'm taking the metaphor too far...

I don't know how to sufficiently express my appreciation for @aptshadow.bsky.social's books. I am in the middle of #ChildrenOfStrife and I'm again addicted, mentally stimulated, fascinated.
And Mel Hudson's narration is saucy and engaging.

by the way, i saw this 😻

Thoroughly satisfying dark sci-fi. My favourite exchange would have to be this one:

#childrenoftime #childrenofmemory #childrenofruin #childrenofstrife looking for fellow Tchaikovskyheads because I’m relapsing to my children of time hyperfixation and I want to talk about my favorite interspecies alliances with superiority complexes🫩

5/5⭐️. Tchaikovsky creates a fascinating world with characters thrown into difficult situations. If you have read his Children novels, this one recaptures much of the wonder of the first. Highly recommended! #netgalley #childrenofstrife
